About My Practice

I am committed to being present with you, listening, and collaborating. I will provide expert guidance in your journey toward increasing your capacity for coping, finding meaning, engaging in valued relationships, improving self-esteem, and reducing burden of your symptoms.

I often work with patients who are already in therapy and need a psychiatrist to manage medications. Collaboration with other providers can create a support network that makes a difference in delivering the best care. Other patients are unsure if medication would be helpful or necessary, and I am able to help with that decision-making process.

I also provide psychotherapy, with a particular interest treatment of anxiety disorders including OCD and phobias, mood disorders, chronic illnesses, life transitions and changes, insomnia, and issues around pregnancy, infertility, and postpartum.  I draw heavily on principles and protocols from evidence-based therapies, particularly CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), ERP (exposure and response prevention), motivational interviewing, and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy).  My practice is also informed by DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), RO-DBT (radically open dialectical behavioral therapy), mindfulness and hypnotherapy practices, and internal family systems therapy.
